The ultimate in two pack Water White clear systems, easy to use and giving non yellowing properties for use over light timbers (Ash, Maple, Sycamore, Beech) and painted finishes. Available in Dead Matt and up to High Gloss.
TU0054/00 is a completely colourless basecoat with good build and sandability. It does not change colour when exposed to sunlight and protect the wood from natural yellowing.
This makes it the ideal basecoat for pale timbers such as ash, maple, oak and birch.
Clearly the protective action will be less effective on conifer timbers (pine, spruce, larch, etc.), which are highly resinous and more susceptible to the yellowing effect of sunlight.
TU0054/00 is also indispensable for coating surfaces bleached with hydrogen peroxide (or other chemical bleaching agents).
TU0152/00 is a clear self-priming topcoat with good build and smoothness ensuring an harmonising effect to be used on fair wood species (maple, birch, ash, fineline, etc.) to keeping natural shade of wood.
For its harmonising effect, it is not suitable on dark timbers.
Warning:
TU0152/00 is to be hardened from 10 to 20%. Hardening at 20% ensures a higher surface hardness.
When used on little porous timbers (maple, birch) we recommend a thinning higher than standard.
TZ70**/00 exhibits complete transparency, and good build and smoothness. It is particularly suitable for applications that require high yellowing resistance.
For example: coating pale-coloured timbers (maple, birch, ash, fine-line, etc.); coating timbers bleached with hydrogen peroxide or other oxidisers (to avoid the severe yellowing problems associated with normal polyurethane products applied on this type of substrate); coating white or pastel coloured substrates to protect them from yellowing.
In the first two cases, a non-yellowing basecoat such as TU0054/00 must be applied before the topcoat TZ70**/00.
In open pore systems, TZ70**/00 should be thinned down at 40-50% to promote flow into the pores.
TZ93**/00 is a series of polyurethane/acrylic topcoats featuring a very high surface hardness that ensures excellent scratch resistance, a smooth touch and good wettability.
TZ93**/00 is especially recommended for non-yellowing systems and for finishing stained substrates.
During summertime, thinner DT0040/00 is recommended in order to achieve the right wettability and drying time.
We advise against applying TZ93**/00 by curtain coater.
After long periods of storage, always check homogeneity and stir well before use to eliminate any possible sediment.
TL0336/00 is a colourless, high-gloss acrylic topcoat with excellent flow and transparency. with It is faster drying than traditional acrylic systems, and ensures excellent yellowing resistance. It is much less sensitive to application conditions than polyurethane gloss topcoats, so it minimizes the risk of pinholes, pinheads, and cissing. It must be applied in a sufficient quantity to wet the substrate well.
Buffing is possible 3 days after application.
Special instructions
In case light coats are applied, use thinner DT0441/00. Like all acrylic products blended with TH0790/00 hardener, it must be applied at a temperature of no lower than 18°C. At lower temperatures drying may not be uniform and the film is liable to lose elasticity and become brittle. TH0790/00 can be partially or totally replaced by TH0759/00 as long as the right mixing ratio is maintained; in this case, pot-life could be shorter and the build could get worse.
